The dictionary points out that a custom is a regular of behavior; it's a fixed method of thinking more or less about something.  If I have a custom of running daily, exercising, and eating healthy meals daily to keep my body and mind healthy and sharp, then those are good customs.  On the other hand, if I smoke cigarettes or vape everyday, which causes harm and many ailments to my body and reduces my wellbeing, then smoking isn't a  go od habit.
